“The Winter’s Tune,” a Hannah Rose Presents concert at Galbraith & Paul

How it all started:

While an orchestra fellow with the New World Symphony in Miami Beach, Hannah curated several of her own concerts, beginning with a concert entitled “Folk(s) in our Lives.” The program featured her original arrangements of folk songs as well as works by Ravel and Schumann. The program was interspersed with poetry that captured some of the shared emotions among the musical works, read aloud by audience members. This concert led to Hannah becoming a featured artist with the O, Miami Poetry Festival for three seasons, where she carried the idea of threading music together with in-the-moment narration. She worked with poets, visual artists and composers. Footage from her performances can be viewed here.

The Series:

Since moving to Philadelphia in 2017, Hannah has brought her musical programming to a range of venues. In 2021, she officially started her series, Hannah Rose Presents, with outdoor performances just outside of Princeton, NJ as well as one virtual barn concert. Musicians traveled from the East Coast and beyond to perform, and these concerts featured local food and flowers. In the winter of 2023, the series debuted in Philadelphia, featuring a string trio and percussionist performing in the showroom of the textile studio Galbraith & Paul. In the fall of 2023 Hannah presented an eclectic program of works from Brazil, Romania, and France, alongside musicians from the Philadelphia Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, and Daeadalus Quartet.
